I was watching ESPN and they had some talking heads on saying that it would be a bad idea for the NFL to allow Rush to purchase the St. Louis Rams.

This guy's main reason is that the NFL wants to stay out of politics and Rush is a diversive person.

REALLY?

Why then did the NFL allow Obama to speak before MNF?

Why does every SuperBowl team visit the White House?

The last time I checked there was a thing called Freedom of Speach in America.

Say what you want about Rush - love him or hate him - he has a right to own an NFL team.

Or does he?

Yes he does. If he can afford it, he should be able to purchase it.

If they restrict this, what next? How many owner's agreed with what Rush said, but didn't come out and say it publically. Rich, old, white men - c'mon, I'm sure their were a couple. The Packer's are publically owned - how many bigots live in Green Bay WI.?

I'm waiting for "we have too many white owners in the league and now we have to have more "african american owner's".

PS - I hate that friggin code at the bottom of every post

He can't be as bad as Hugh Culverhouse was. He's definately no Margie Schott or Al Davis. How bad can it be to have an owner who is passionate about the game, loves winning, and is willing to buy his home town team and invest millions into a sorry franchise just to keep it out of L.A. I'd sell him more than one team. Let him have an AFC and a NFC team. then the only issues will be at Superbowl time...if?

Now we've got members of congress speaking out and saying Rush shouldn't be allowed to be a part owner of an NFL team?

I guess it's ok for the government, full of racist's like former KKK member Byrd (D, W. Virginia) and tax cheats (Treasury Secretary Geithner and NY Rep Charlie Wrangle) to own GM and Citigroup?

What really torques me is that the "main street media" ran stories about Rush making racist statements but those statements are fictous. Where's the fact checking guys?

I hope Limbaugh sues CNN, MSNBC and even NFL commish Godell for defamation.

The problem with accusations, especially public accusations, is they are like toothpaste.

Once they're out in the open you can't put them back in the tube.

Unfortunately there are many people who make up their minds and don't allow facts to change their opinions.

Rush has no "rights" in the NFL. The owners have to vote him in and all his money won't make him acceptable. He's a racist and an addict that likely avoided jail with his money. And he has the forum to shoot off his mouth which he is very likely to do. Not to mention he's just a big jerk.

Gee, we are still bashing Rush though he is no longer a possible owner?  You don't like his views so you call call him a racist.  The one and only verifiable quote attributed to him was a comment on the media not McNabb.  Not one part of that quote was racist.  Let's stick to sports and leave politics to the idiots that we idiot voters elected in all our glorious stupidity.

I agree with you - the NFL is an "all boys club". Just because you've got the $ it doesn't mean you can be an NFL owner. Unfortunately the NFL is becoming so politically correct they won't let a lightening rod like Rush be a member.

Please tell me how you KNOW Rush is a racist. The "supposed" racists comments that were attributed to Rush were lifted from a blogger who addmitted that he made up those quotes.

Please tell us what exactly makes a person a racist will you? The comment Rush made about McNabb was a slap at the MEDIA - not McNabb.

I guess you think I'm a racist because I think Raheem Morris is a terrible head coach and that he should be fired?

Well since you're posting on a forum what's wrong with that? As for Rush being a jerk - he makes lots of money to promote controversy - what's your excuse?

Well said, Lucky.  It'sd base intolerance for differing view points at work.  Amazingly enough, the very persons who claim to be the champions of diversity and color-blindness are the first to use race in almost every argument against view points they do not agree with.

I'm quite surprised the race card has not been brought up in defense of Morris yet.  Give it time.

Mr. Lucky--

Listening to Rush is all you need to do to know he's a racist and a chauvinist.
